This is the evaluation of my final product after the process of constructing my music magazine talking about the decisions i made throughout the process and why, including influences, the use of codes and conventions, representing social groups, media institution, target audience for my product, technologies i used to construct the magazine and looking back at my preliminary task and the success of my end product.

This is a draft of my double page spread, however, there are improvements to be made such as tidying up the interview page and adding page numbers.

Drafting and planning- Magazine front cover and contents page draft

This is a draft of my front cover and contents page coming towards the end of the construction of my product. I need to make improvements such as cutting down on the amount of fonts i've used, adding more to my contents page to prevent any negative space and ensuring that the features of the magazine fit in with my double page spread.

Drafting and planning- Edited photography

This is the photo I want on my front cover after I've cropped the back ground out. However, the edges aren't need so I do need to edit the picture more and make it look neater so I can put it on my magazine cover.

I will use this photo for my front cover. However I will have to crop out the background and just have the band members as I don't think the fence and grass make a good background.

This is my final edit of my original photography of my band for the contents page of my magazine.

I previously took photos of my band members on Sunday 19th January but was not happy with the end results, so from the 17th February and the week following I will be testing out various locations for taking photos of my band together.

Drafting and Planning original photography

I liked the pictures of my supporting artist against the plain black wall and thought that this location was an option for my main band photo shoot so took some pictures of one of the band members in similar indie clothes, smoking, looking rebellious and cool.

This is another supporting artist for my magazine who I think is more appropriate for the genre as she is similar to my main band considering she is young with an 'indie' style wearing leather and denim. I think these pictures are good as she is laughing and smiling which is how I want my artists to appear as 'young and loving life'. I think the fact that she is smoking and the brick wall in the background somehow ties in with the rebelliousness that I want my artists to have.

Organisation- Supporting artist

I wanted to use a similar artist for my supporting artist in the sense that both artists are young and rebellious in their own way. This artist is called JAE-V and mixes soul with rap so has a different genre to my main band however has similarities and fits in with the ethos of my magazine. 

Organisation- Style of my band

Whilst thinking about how to style my band I have again looked at Arctic Monkeys' lead singer Alex Turner and an article showing people how to look as cool as the 'coolest man of 2013'. My band will be dressed similar to this wearing leather and denim so they look cool and young like Alex and the rest of Arctic Monkeys.

These are four individual pictures of my band members that I have used for my draft that I decided were too dissimilar. Therefore I have arranged for the whole band to get together on Sunday 19th January wearing specific similar clothes so I can take photos of them for my magazine cover.
